Project Concern, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services to people 60 and older so they can live independently with maximum involvement in community activities and affairs.
Project Concern, Inc. invites people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in activities offered to older Americans at the Effingham and Atchison Senior Centers.
The Atchison Senior Center is located at 504 Kansas Avenue across from City Hall. Town & Country Senior Center is located at 411 Main Street in Effingham. Both senior centers are reopening on a limited basis due to security measures. The new hours for both centers will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. daily. The cost of lunch is $6 for those under 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over. Lunch reservations must be made one working day in advance.

General public transport is also available from 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. The cost is $3 for a round trip within the city limits. Bus passes are available for purchase. All trips are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
Below is the menu of meals at home and delivered for the coming week:
> Monday 14 February: BBQ meatballs, diced potatoes, mixed vegetables and mixed fruits.
> Tuesday 15 February: Chicken noodles, bread, carrots and peach cake.
> Wednesday February 16: Slice of turkey, mashed potatoes au jus, peas and pears.
> Thursday 17 February: Chili, cinnamon bun, baked apple and cinnamon.
> Friday 18 February: Shrimp Poppers, cocktail sauce, fries, green beans and pineapple.
