Paris and Los Angeles-based ‘CODA’ Producer Vendôme Pictures Launches Doc Division, Hires Former Amazon France and Velvet Film Duo – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: CODA producer Vendôme Pictures made two nominations and launched a documentary division.

Ninon Desplat has been named head of development for French documentaries and series, joining Sonia Droulhiole who was recently named head of development and production, films and scripted series, for the company’s English-language production.

Under the new documentary banner Vendôme, Desplat will be responsible for creating a slate focused on pop culture topics in English and French. It will also accelerate Vendôme’s television programming and further develop its French-language projects. Droulhiole is responsible for overseeing all English-language scripted feature films and series, from scouting, development, talent management to delivery.

Desplat and Droulhiole will report to Vendôme Founder, Chairman and CEO Philippe Rousselet and Co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi, effective immediately. They will both be based in Paris.

Droulhiole recently served as Senior Development Executive for Amazon Studios France. During her tenure, she managed a list of scripted series and films in French, including Mixed, Totems, i love america, Hawaii and Greek salad. Prior to Amazon, she worked as head of development and production at Octopolis and in international sales for StudioCanal and WTFilms.

Formerly based in New York, Desplat previously worked for Frank Miller Ink as production coordinator and as head of development for Velvet Film (I’m not your nigga).

Vendôme was the lead producer for the 2022 Best Picture winner CODA and is also known for his English-language films, including Source code, Larry Crown and What happened on Monday?as well as French-language productions such as two is family, Pennywise! and CODA’s bestselling source material The Aries family.
