The iconic One8 Commune, a resto bar owned by Virat Kohli, opens in Kolkata City. Located in the heart of the city in Golden Park, Kolkata, the place maintains a thoughtful blend of old world charm with the contemporary. The decor complements the look of conviviality, while also incorporating the ambience of the city’s nostalgic heritage. After its inaugural outlet at Delhi Aerocity, One8 Commune is now set to steal the show from Kolkata’s resto-bar community.

Designed by acclaimed interior designer Sumessh Menon, the signature resto-bar spans over 4,500 square feet and has a 100-seat capacity that includes capsule-style capsules and raised VIP seating space. distinct, with a backdrop of Virat Kohli’s signature LED lighting. The color scheme includes shades of rust, olive green, and blue in varying tones and textures to add drama to any space. Calcuttans know how to do food justice and Kolkata’s food culture has always fascinated me, which is why we thought One8 Commune could be a fantastic addition to the city’s food preferences with a bit of our quirks. Kolkata’s unique blend of colonial features, architecture and history, combined with its modern finds and contemporary vibes, creates a quality contrast and that’s what we aspire to bring. The idea is to embody Kolkata through the food and spirit of the municipality.

The finely crafted menu by celebrity chef Pawan Bisht is a diverse and vibrant multi-cuisine menu that caters to a global palate; from basic Pizza-Burger reinventions to heavy community platters, the menu balances it all with impetus. From Midnight Rock Jammers to Sunday Brunch Squads, from understated coolers to party freaks, incomprehensible artists to corporate go-getters, One8 taps into a single common thread that binds them all – A Love for Maids people, delicious food and glorious weather.

The menu also draws inspiration from the personal travels and culinary experiences of Virat Kohli, creating a holistic culinary space for all types of foodie, whether they are health junkies, meat lovers or vegetarians. Some of the iconic dishes include the red and white quinoa salad, “Ghugni chaat cornetto, Chicken Keema Cornetto”, Keema puff, Black Chicken; Pizza Napoletana con burrata, Herb Crusted Fish Steak, Spicy Malvani Curry, Mumbai Dabbagosht, The One8 mezze, Communing Indian way !!, Common Lahori in the main course among several other delicious offerings. Iconic desserts are Five River Mud Cake and Skillet Apple Pie. Don’t miss a section on Kohli’s favorite, which includes specialties like Superfood Salad and Googly Mushroom to name a few.

The drink menu features signature cocktails concocted that evoke generational moods, ranging from the classic 50s, retro 70s to the current millennial. Some of the favorites are “Loverture tiki”, “Commune no.7”, “Yellowtail”, “Barrel meister”, “POP! And “Sage Thumb”. Under the expertise of Neeraj Sharma, head mixologist, the One 8 bar menus have evolved, with a constant effort to create more innovative cocktails.

The quirky and experimental shameless resto-bar also hosts an in-house DJ playing the intriguing beats of Commercial Pop and Hip-Hop to keep a dance floor addict.
