Mediawan in France combines the interests of children and family in one division | New


ANNECY: Parisian producer and distributor The Mediawan group has launched a youth and family division, bringing together all of its activities in the region within a single entity.

Mediawan Kids & Family is working on more than 10 new productions as part of the expansion, details of which will be announced soon.

Mediwan’s children’s and family production labels include Method Animation, which focuses on television series; ON Classics, focused on feature films; and Joann Sfar’s Magical Society, which creates series and feature films based on the works of French author Joann Sfar.

As part of the new division, the company also launched a label called Elliott, specializing in live action for tweens, and another called Somewhere Animation, dedicated to 2D animation for preschoolers.

Mediawan plans to acquire other companies in France and abroad to expand its children and family offer, it was announced on the first day of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.

In addition to production, Mediawan Kids & Family will distribute all of the company’s youth and family content, i.e. 2,500 half-hours produced by the group and third-party acquisitions.
