Lionel Messi reportedly looks set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season despite talk that he could return to Barcelona.
Messi struggled for goals and was knocked out in the Champions League second round by Real Madrid.
However, according to Marca, Messi will stay at PSG beyond the end of this disappointing season.
After leaving Barca with emotion last year, he signed a two-year contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
And he is expected to see out his deal with the club, although there is currently no option for a further year.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to drop Reece James from the England squad due to injury, leaving Luke Shaw as the only specialist full-back.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel revealed the news after his side secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals by beating Middlesbrough 2-0 on Saturday.
He said: ‘The recommendation is that he doesn’t go.
“He is still in individual training, otherwise we would have brought him to Lille and we would have brought him here for sure.
“There’s no doubt about that. He needs one more week of rehabilitation and I think we can do better.
“It’s not the national team’s job to do that.”
Crystal Palace star Tyrick Mitchell is expected to be called in as his replacement.
