Jellysmack signs MMA star Francis Ngannou to his new “Marquee” division

Jellysmack charts a new commercial territory.

The company, which works with creators (through its Creator program) and brands (through its Media partnership program) to expand their video presence on new social platforms, launched a Marquee program, which will build digital content businesses from the ground up for high-profile non-digital native celebrities.

His first partner is the French Cameroonian cfu heavyweight champion Francois Ngannou. Jellysmack will provide financing, creative ideation, content strategy, production, distribution and video optimization services to Ngannou to increase the monetization of its Youtube (190,000 subscribers) Facebook (1 million followers), and Snapchat profiles.

Talent enrolled in Jellysmack’s Marquee program — like its creator division — incurs no upfront cost and retains ownership of their content.

The deal was brokered by AACit is Justin Castillo and Mark Martin and Jellysmack’s Vice President of Marquee Affairs Aaron Godfred.

Even before signing Ngannou, who is known to be the toughest puncher in the world, Jellysmack worked with a number of combat sports companies on digital strategy, including World fight, PFL (League of Professional Fighters), Karate fight, and Main Boxing Events.

“Working alongside the UFC champion is a reflection of Jellysmack’s strategy to embrace Gen Z’s growing appetite for combat sports,” said Maxime Horbez, Jellysmack’s vice president of sports. “Mixed martial arts will be one of the most watched genres of content on social media for the foreseeable future, and we want to make sure we distribute the best of it to our incredible audience.”
